3 Tips for Tidying Up Your Marketing

Sniff, sniff.. Is that Spring we smell?? (If you are in our neck of the woods don’t let those April snow showers fool you, Spring has indeed sprung!) Time to get out the marketing Swiffer and clean up some habits.

Now is the perfect time to do a bit of marketing housekeeping. Here is ODEA’s spring cleaning to-do list for 2022:

Commence Content Creation

If 2022 is the year you pledged to overhaul your website or make that brand video you have been dreaming of, you need to get started NOW!  Supply chain issues aren’t confined to hard goods. Web developers, videographers, and yes even we marketers are jammed with great projects. So, get in touch!

Stay Social

Still posting regularly on your social media platforms, especially LinkedIn? Well done! Are your social pages dustier than the floor under your bed?? Time to clean out those dust bunnies and commit to 15 minutes a day posting and joining conversations. Remember, you don’t always have to post created content, curate content from sources you respect, and add your company POV (point of view). A best practice is a 2:1 ratio; two created posts for every curated one. And remember to be a good member of your social communities — comment, like, and share others’ content!

Bonus Tip: Build followers by inviting your personal LinkedIn connections to like your company page. Encourage others in your organization, especially the sales team, to do the same. LinkedIn allows 100 invitations per company page per month. That means by year-end you could have 900 more followers!

Amp up Analytics

Thought you had your Google Analytics tidier than Marie Kondo’s closet? You might need to add them back to your company’s honey-do list. Effective July 1, 2023, Google will transition data collection from Universal Analytics (UA) to Google Analytics 4 (GA4). While the transition is over a year away, we suggest you start utilizing GA4 this year to build historical data in prep for when UA is no longer available.

As a first step, check to see if the switch will impact you. If your GA property was created after October 2020, there is a good chance GA4 is already in place. Older account or simply not sure? Give us a call to take a look.
